Infinite thanks to Anja for making our stay so comfortable and easy. We really appreciated the personal attention and assistance for my mother, who has difficulty walking. Despite the steps, she wants to return to Casa Pombal for her next trip! The rooms were very cosy, the view of the city below from our bathroom was marvellous, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We will certainly stay with you the next time we come back to Coimbra!

Op de bonnefooi klopten we aan bij Casa Pombal om er 1 nachtje te verblijven. Anja bleek nog precies 1 kamer beschikbaar te hebben. We mochten kiezen tussen twee superschattige kamers op de bovenste verdieping met eigen badkamer (met ligbad!). De auto (gratis) 1 straat verderop geparkeerd en na een korte kennismaking Coimbra gaan ontdekken. Superleuke stad met uiteraard veel studenten. ‘s Avonds per ongeluk (we kwamen er toevallig langs) nog een Fadoconcert bijgewoond. Terug de berg op en heerlijk geslapen. ‘s Ochtends een heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt, waarbij je ook hagelslag of appelstroop op je broodje kon smeren.

We verbleven halverwege juli in Casa Pombal en direct bij onze aankomst, waren we zo tevreden dat we het jammer vonden dat we maar 1 nacht bleven. Het is een hele aangename persoonlijke ontvangst, heel leuke binnentuin, goede faciliteiten (computer, apart toilet, badkamer) en leuk ontbijt. Goed gesitueerd om aan je wandeling te beginnen, ook. Een dikke tien!!

Echt een aanrader,de tips en informatie die je krijgt van de dames zijn zeer welkom als je op korte tijd wegwijs wil geraken in het mooie Coimbra.De leuke kleine attenties zoals een warmwaterkruikje voor het slapengaan en een lekker ontbijt maken het verblijf heel aangenaam.

Zoals beloofd zetten wij onze reactie op jouw geweldige B&B even in het gastenboek. We zijn vanmorgen weer geland in ons koude kikkerlandje, wat een verschil… we willen weer terug naar Portugal! Aan iedereen die in de buurt van Coimbra wil logeren, raden wij het mooie karakteristieke B&B Casa Pombal aan. Je bent een geweldige gastvrouw met een prachtige en prima verzorgde locatie: TOP!! Een geweldig ontbijt, lekkere wijn en we hebben een paar zakjes Favas fritas meegenomen in onze koffer naar Nederland. The little animal with plastic-bottle with hot water inside that we funded in our beds, was a great idea and very pretty! And the view about Coimbra from the windows was fantastic!
So, if our friends search for a gh in Coimbra I absolutely suggest Casa Pombal!

This is what B&B is all about: cosy rooms (small but tasteful, don’t go here if you want a jaccuzi and sun terrace), great location (upper part of town, quite unique apparently), friendly and enthusiastic staff members (at least English, Portugese and Dutch spoken), good price, fresh breakfast.

Staff was great – enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Location was superb (although driving was a llittle threatening to a westerner used to 24-foot wide streets. A delightful experience overall.
A little noisy during student celebrations but to be expected in a university atmosphere.

Charming, unique rooms. Lovely tiled breakfast room, sunny garden. Delightful Dutch breakfast, with freshly squeezed oranje juice. Ana, the owner, gives each guest personal attention and lots of help in getting around, seeing all that Coimbra offers.
For the first time visitor, it is not easy to find. But once found, the location is marvelous.

I’m writing to thank you for such a nice stay in Coimbra. I was looking for just a bed and bath and got a whole lot more! Besides the fact that the room was comfortable with every amenity I could want, the room and the whole hotel was beautifully decorated. Your breakfast was delicious and I loved the variety. I’m grateful you had free Internet access, and I enjoyed your music selections playing in the breakfast room. Above all, I’m most impressed with the personal touch of your sitting down with me and mapping out my sightseeing plans. I would never have known about the late night restaurant and Fado music tavern, or known about the bus to Leiria. I feel lucky to have encountered your website and promise to share it with all my friends.
